Proverbs 21:31

The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.

In Ancient times, horses were used mainly for the purpose of warfare, though horses can be beneficial in multiple ways such as, racing, traveling, and hunting. Horses were expensive to purchase and to maintain and, for these reasons, ownership was largely limited to the wealthier members of ancient communities. It is a symbol of power and pride.
In our time, we can contextualize it to what I call tools. We don't necessarily have wars today, but we have personal or corporate goals and aspirations we want to achieve. Without tools, no matter how skillful we might be it would be impossible to reach it. Imagine a mechanic working on your car without tools. It would cause your time, resources , and the worst result is to end up with accomplishing nothing.
In this fast phase world we need tools to aid us for the task and our goal is finishing it in an efficient and productive manner.
What could we learn from here?
Success is from the Lord, but preparation is encouraged. Doing nothing results in nothing. To become productive it is not about hard work but working innovatively. We must learn to list and know the right tools we could use to be successful in our area of influence. It comes with a price to gain knowledge and require skill to develop over time. The goal of preparation is consecration. Never forget that all our tools are just means and not the ends .We prepare for the purpose of glorifying God.
What shall we do when we give our best yet results to failure?
1.We live in a broken world, remember chances happen to everyone but the purpose of God prevails.
2.Every failure is a lesson.
3.Success is not what we always want, rather what God desires.
4.We can try again.
5.Failure is not the end of everything, there is hope.
What can we do?
1. Prepare by being teachable.
2. Prepare by developing essential skill on your chosen field.
3. Prepare by learning from the success and failures of others.
4. Prepare by resting with the Lord.
5. Prepare by accepting whatever outcome, the Lords purpose will prevail.
